Our Mission

Confucius say you must attend Publosophy once a month to brighten the soul and expand the mind.

Publosophy started with an innocent post on a Newcastle Facebook group asking if anyone was interested in catching up at a local pub once a month to chat about philosophy. Thinking it wouldn’t result in much, Paul decided to post the same message on three other group pages. That was around 4pm on a Friday afternoon.
By 10pm that night, over 430 people had responded saying they wanted in!

What was going to be a table at a pub quickly became the whole pub.
Here’s what that response says…
It says people are craving for good conversation.
They want to stretch their minds.
They want to learn and be inspired.
They want to debate and be challenged.
They also want to catch up with like-minded people for a drink!

So our mission is a simple one:
Provide a time and a space for locals who are interested in philosophy, ethics and the nature of things to catch up in a social environment where everyone is welcome to be part of the conversation.
